About Us
Initially founded as the Sarlacc Mining Company (SMC) by Kir Tessa in 19 ABY, their focus was on extracting valuable ores in the Outer Rim’s tumultuous Lothal system. However, as the galaxy reeled from the remnants of the Empire’s fall and the New Republic’s struggle for stability, the SMC’s role evolved from mere mining and salvage operations into a more daring, and sometimes lawless, pursuit of piracy. They quickly gained notoriety for attacking rival mining operations and lucrative targets, skillfully navigating the blurred lines of morality in a galaxy still finding its footing.
It was during one such expedition that the Sarlacc Squadron, still known then as the SMC, stumbled upon an ancient Sith artifact. This relic, steeped in dark energy, was not only immensely valuable but also attracted the attention of the First Order’s formidable leader, Kylo Ren. His pursuit of this artifact set the stage for a pivotal confrontation that would redefine the Sarlacc’s path. In a fierce battle that ensued, the Squadron was unexpectedly joined by the Jedi Rey and the Resistance, tipping the scales in their favor. The combined might of the Sarlacc Squadron and the Resistance proved too much for Kylo Ren, but the victory came at a cost. The Sith artifact, central to the conflict, was destroyed amidst the chaos.
The aftermath of this battle was a turning point for the Sarlacc Squadron. Their actions, once driven by profit and survival, had now elevated them to a status beyond space pirates. Recognizing their valor and potential, the Resistance officially rebranded them as the Sarlacc Squadron, entrusting them with command over a small but formidable armada of ships. This new role was not just a title but a call to a greater purpose. The Sarlacc Squadron, under the leadership of Kir Tessa, now stands as a key ally in the fight against the First Order.
